Dr. Jim Warson began in neurosurgery before devoting the majority of his practice to spine surgeries (he performed over 5,000 over the course of his medical career). Spinal injuries related to horses and riding were his field of expertise.

EVERYTHING you do on and around horses demands a supple, strong, healthy back—from riding itself, to grooming, tacking-up, stacking hay bales, pushing a wheelbarrow, or doctoring a cow. And, according to Dr. Warson, over 90 percent of the population seeks help for their back at one point or another during the course of their life. It stands to reason, then, that we all could do with some sensible information and exercises that can help us keep our back pain-free, and get it back in riding-shape when it is weak, sore, or injured.

In a special two-part series appearing in the August and September 2012 issues, TrailBlazer Magazine (www.trailblazermagazine.us) is featuring tips and exercises from Dr. Warson and his groundbreaking book THE RIDER’S PAIN-FREE BACK.

Be sure to pick up a copy of TrailBlazer’s August and September issues—it will do you, your horse, and your back, a whole lotta good!

Dr. Warson’s book THE RIDER’S PAIN-FREE BACK is available at the TSB online bookstore, where shipping in the US is always FREE.
